How to use presentation templates?

To use Google Drive you must be logged in to your account.

How to use Google Slides templates?

Step 1- Open template.

Click the green button below the presentation that says “Use this template for your presentation” it will open Google Drive.

Step 2- Open the File menu and click Make a Copy.

At this point, an editable copy of the document ( you can rename) will be made, That allows you to modify, delete or add the slides you want to use. You can also modify the place you save it in your Drive and share it with other people.

 

Can I edit a Powerpoint template in Google Slides?

Yes, google slides allows you import presentations made in PowerPoint, edit them and work with them in Drive.

1.     Go to Google Drive

2.     Click New – Upload File and select your computer presentation. Supports .ppt (If your Microsoft Office is later than 95) .pps and .pptx.

3.     Select Open with Google Slides

Once done, make a copy and start working on your editable template.

How are changes saved?

In Google Slides you do not have to save your changes because it´s done automatically.

What are Themes and what are they used for?

The themes allow you to give the format you want to the whole presentation, that is, all the slides have the same look, same background, same typography.

What are Layouts used for?

Layouts are predetermined structures of the slides that allow you to define the distribution of the content in them, the text, the photographs, etc.

 How can I apply a change to my entire presentation?

To make a change to the whole presentation that appears in all the slides, you must go to the Slide menu and click Edit Master, that will open the master template with all the layouts used, here you can modify the design.

 What happens if I change the slide format from 16/9 to 4/3 or vice versa?

When you change the proportion, it could be components that do not fit well in the new format, can appear disproportionate, or alter its original shape. In this case, the solution is to make adjustments manually. In some cases you will have to do it on the Master slide. (Go to the Slide menu and click Edit Master).

 Can we work several people in a presentation?

Yes, Google slides allows several people working at the same time in a presentation. To do this, use the shared settings.

Go to the File menu, click on Share, that gives you two options, to copy the link and send it with the permission you want to give, View, Comment or Edit, or option 2, enter the email of the person with whom you want to share it .
